Racing Yacht Hull Repair
This racing yacht suffered extensive damage after dragging her mooring in gale force winds. Temporary repairs enabled her to race until the end of the season when she was lifted out of the water for her normal winter lay-up. During the off season a two metre section of her hull was replaced and the whole boat re-painted in time for her to be launched again ready for the next seasons racing.
GP14 'Nose' Rebuild
This GP 14 had come off worst in a collision with a larger boat. We had to completely rebuild the nose and re-paint the hull to match. The boat is now as good as new
Osprey Rebuild
This Osprey was in a sorry state when it came into our workshop. Poorly applied epoxy coating trapped water in the decks and was peeling off in sheets. The transom, centreboard case and hog all suffered from glue failure and the thwart was not attached to the centreboard case at all. We completely stripped the boat, replaced the transom, repaired all the faulty glue lines, fitted a new thwart and replaced sections of the foredeck before varnishing, painting and renewing all the internal fittings. She is now back on the water ready to race and providing she is looked after should last for another twenty years before she needs another major overhaul.
Flying Fifteen Paintwork
Normally we would recommend painting a fibreglass boat in as near her original colour as possible. However if your boat is faded 1970's British Leyland Brown and your family refuse to sail in her then by all means pick any colour you like! This classic Flying Fifteen was finished in two pack paint to give a finish that looks great and will last.
Osprey Refurbishment
This Osprey had stood partially stripped of varnish and fittings for a number of years until the owners son expressed an interest in sailing it. Within a week we took it from a half started project to a fully fitted racing boat that looks as good as it sails.
Fireball - hull repair
Blown over in the wind the trailer had punched a large hole in the Fireball's hull. Our images show the repair in before and after views.
Mirror - interior refurbishment
Partially stripped and left standing for a couple of years, this wooden Mirror was in need of some TLC. The Boat Fixer completely stripped the interior, made repairs as required and refinished all deck surfaces.
Miracle - various repairs
Water damage and ensuing rot to the front bulkead, mast step and transom required some serious surgery. The Boat Fixer replaced the transom and sections of the remainder, bringing the boat back to a competitive racing state.
Trolley Build
New trolley support for a recently bought second hand Supernova.
